We ARE "The Force"

Along with everybody else, I have watched the bailing of some really big BIG shot Democrats in Washington.  At the same time I heard Mister Steele, the Politically Correct mouthpiece of the floundering GOP, say that Republicans cannot win in November.  This tells me that neither party is any longer relevant or worth our trust.

It matters not whether your loyalty has been to the party with a fat elephant logo or a kicking donkey monogram, the reality is that neither major party represents the average hard working American citizen who holds traditional conservative values.  They haven't represented anybody other than themselves or their cronies for decades.  I challenge either party spokesperson, whether county, state or national,  to prove me wrong and will give them whatever space is necessary to present their case.

Since the grassroots citizen movement started on Tax Day, April 15, 2009, those who dared to participate in challenging their government have been called every name in the book.  We have been belittled, ridiculed, called un-American and radical.  We have been shouted down and, in a few cases, beaten up.  To  those who have tried to silence us, I say THANK YOU.  YOU have proven the need for us, and that is why we are NOT going away.

Years ago, many of my peers were into the Star Wars movies.  One of the memorable lines from Star Wars was The force be with you. Well, guess what?  The Democrats are not looking out for us and the Republicans aren’t either.  The reality is, if there is going to be any real “change” (not the stuff our President is shoving down our throats) – WE ARE “THE FORCE!”

Many argue that this is a “two party system,” and if we want change, we have to work within that system and accept the lesser of two evils.  This is precisely what both parties count on.  MY question to each person who believes we must work within this structure is: HOW MANY MORE TIMES are we going to do things the same way expecting DIFFERENT results?

If we all really believe that campaign promises don’t really mean anything (Barack Obama – and his predecessors --  have proven that they do not) – then why do we keep playing into their hands over and over again?

The TEA Party, 912 and other grassroots groups which exploded onto the scene in the spring of 2009 have, in that short span of time, become more trusted and respected than the Democrat or Republican Parties or any of the  Washington  bureaucrats.  Yep, WE ARE “THE FORCE,” and they don’t like it at all.

If you are dissatisfied with your representation (for the time being, let’s concentrate on Washington, since they are spending the most money) – then I encourage you to drop your party label and register as an Independent.  Yes, you forfeit the right to vote for anything other than Issues in the Primary election, BUT you become a part of this massive “blob” of free thinking Americans who scare the heck (I had a much stronger word in mind)  out of both parties. As long as you are registered in either party, they "know where you are" politically (in their back pockets). But, as part of a massive conservative Independent block, MAYBE they'll start grooming candidates to appeal to US instead of their own special interests.

I don’t think  there is any time left to work within the two party system.  Frankly, I (and many others) think there’s a whole lot going on behind the scenes inside the Administration –orchestrated at the White House level -- which could end the election process as we know it.  Trust me, I am not buying into some “conspiracy” theory.  I have just been around the “track of life” enough times to have become a pretty observant driver.

I spent many years working in the Chicago metropolitan area.  I am so familiar with the Chicago Political Machine perfected by the father of the current Mayor. His dad, Richard J. Daley, was the GODFATHER of Chicago politics.  Though he was from another era and had little command of the English language in front of TV cameras, Chicago seemed to run rather smoothly and nobody dared ask how the mayor made it all happen.  If a few arms had to be twisted, the party figured that was sometimes the cost of keeping the machine oiled.

This is the same political environment which groomed President Obama and many of those now holding his Czar posts. Like it or not, these folks know how to bang heads to get things (their agenda) done and the law, or “the will of the people” be damned.  In their minds, their idea of “the common good” overrides our will – OR the law.

Tom Zawistowski is really impressed with GOOOH (Get Out Of Our House).  I have registered at their site and completed the various questionnaires, including the one for candidates.  I encourage you to visit their site too (GOOOH.COM).  THEIR idea is to remove all 435 members of the US House of Representatives and replace them with people like us.  Is that possible or practical?  I don't know, but it is worth a try.

The GOOOH concept is an outstanding alternative to “the lesser of two evils” offered by both major parties.  Is it the RIGHT solution?  I don’t have a clue.  However, I think the BIGGEST statement each of us can make to the two major parties is to, ASAP, register as INDEPENDENTS.  BELIEVE ME, if we DO this, FINALLY, they will live in fear of us – and that is EXACTLY the way the genius founding fathers intended it to be.
