Earlier this month, The Portage County TEA Party wanted to raffle off a unique Proudly American 9mm SemiAutomatic Pistol as a fund raiser. Members of our Fund Raising Committee had 1,200 tickets printed with the idea of selling them at our events and through our members. We thought it was a good idea but we were totally overwhelmed by the response. All 1,200 tickets were sold in just seven days! By the time we came to our group meeting on February 16th, all remaining tickets were sold.
The winner of the handgun has not yet been drawn. That drawing will take place in public at our next full membership meeting on March 9, 2010. Tickets have been printed for additional drawings so everyone that did not get a chance to purchase a ticket will have the opportunity. The prize includes not only the handgun, but Concealed Carry Training as well. All of the raffles provide operating revenue for the Portage County TEA Party.
