CONGRESS HAS OVERSTEPPED ITS AUTHORITY FOR DECADES, BUT NEVER MORE THAN NOW. "November 2 is the date that I want to begin the process of reclaiming my country! I want America back."
Section 8 of Article 1 of the United States Constitution has seventeen paragraphs of definitive actions that the United States Congress must oversee and manage. They are by definition, limited to the Federal Government. During the past few decades various congresses have abused this section of the Constitution and inserted laws that were unconstitutional.; laws that applied to various states instead of exclusively to the federal government. The United States Health Care Act is an example of massive abuse by the majorities in both the House of Representatives and the Senate of this section of our constitution. This very piece of legislation embarrasses me as a citizen of my beloved Republic. It embarrasses me because of the lack of shame that the elected members of my government displayed. There are representatives and senators that openly, publicly, accepted huge financial arrangements for their state, while other states received nothing. Jobs were offered, and given, to incumbents that influence appropriations for the military, that would replace candidates in the primary election, and to the unions with their “Cadillac “health care plans. It embarrasses me that the people that I had trusted and gave my sacred vote to, defied their Republic (and constitution) by not even reading this bill that, if it stands, will change America forever. It embarrasses me that those people elected by the majority of voters defied the very wishes of those voters by passing the bill in the dark of the night. It embarrasses me that the rest of the world watched as the governing body of my country, of my home; the country of my children is being degraded by the few that have taken an oath to defend the constitution that they were elected to defend. I am angry that my vote, my one singular expression of my desires for my Republic elected people of deception. My vote gave authority to persons that believe that I am not important. They insult me by defying my existence, my intelligence and my morality. I am angry that my vote was wasted on representatives that hide from me. I am ignored in every way: my congressional representative hides behind telephone conferences, in the safety of television news studios. He hides in churches to spread his deceit. I am angry that he voted for the United States National Health Care Act. I am angry that he obeys Speaker Pelosi’s wishes over my wishes. I am angry that the creators of this “Act” did not call it what it actually is: a law to tax me in many ways. But my beloved United States will survive these attacks on its Integrity, on its fortitude. It will survive because now the United States of America has seen what indifference, selfishness, what ignorance of issues can do to erode the values of its history. Your country, my country, is ‘we the people’. You and I own this country. We pay for it pay day by pay day. We secure it by serving, or sending our children to serve in its defense. We feed its honor and integrity with our faithful actions, with our hard work .We pray for it and Pledge Our Allegiance to it. It is our HOME. It will always be our home as long as you and I choose people of integrity, of faithfulness, people that will obey the will “of the people” to manage it for us. November 2 is the date that I want to begin the process of reclaiming my country! I want America back.
