December 15, 2009 7:00 PM 40 people assembled at the Shalersville Town Hall to attend the reception and swearing in of the Portage County TEA Party’s backed candidate, Nancy Vines and the other highest vote receiver, Frank Ruehr, re-elected. Judge Barb Oswick did the swearing in. |
Following the swearing in, approximately 15 people remained for the meeting. They voted to dispense with the reading of the last meeting’s minutes but did have one copy to pass around for those who wanted to read them.
There was one piece of correspondence from the Red Cross asking if they would continue letting the Shalersville old elementary school and the town hall be used as emergency shelters. The motion to continue was unanimously voted in, and Larry Solak signed the paperwork to return to the Red Cross.
There was a motion to spend $800.00 for repairs of the pressure washer after debate and prices were submitted.
Repair allotment of $300 was appropriated for the repair of the Mack Truck.
$250.00 was allowed for repair of the one ton Ford.
Nancy Vines advised there were 35 seniors at the Senior Meeting and that $100.00 gift cards are available for seniors needing help for medicine and car repairs in a program started by Judge Barb Oswick, where fines are paid by purchasing gift cards. The current fund it $6,000.
The Zoning Commission Board’s report was given to Dorothy Caldwell, Fiscal Officer
for her records.
Dennis Bujak requested a new clock for the hallway of the old school, the motion was made and passed for $20.00.
200 Tons of cold patch were donated to the Township.
There was a complaint of two flat tires by a citizen and it was reported that the error on the bridge that caused the tire damage was the fault of the contractor and they will pay for it.
Finally, there was a motion to pay the bills and the meeting was closed.
