FathersDay

Happy Fathers Day to all the men in the world who do the most important job on the planet - fathering children, raising them to the best of their ability, and guiding them throughout their lives. We need engaged responsible fathers today more than ever.

The school shootings, the suicide rate, the drug use, the gang killing, the overall anger and lack of moral clarity in our nation, can be traced directly to the effects of the war on men and fatherhood that has taken place since the 1960's - particularly in the black community. When was the last time you saw a TV commercial that did not portray the boyfriend/father/ husband as a total insensitive fool? That's the lie and that's the problem.

Today I celebrate men who are strong, who are capable, who are loving, who are engaged with their wives and their children, who are serious about doing the most important job on the planet and doing it well! We wish them all a Happy Father's Day because they are a critical part of making all our lives, and our entire world, great! Today we thank them for their hard work, their love and their wisdom.
