The New and Important NEW YEAR 2012

E-mail Print PDF

Happy New Year everyone.  I pray we all have good health, finances and most of all an election year that goes the TEA way.  Again this year it will drain the hard workers and I wish I could say I had an unlimited supply of Vitamin B12.  However, my wishes will not come true without the much needed participation of all the Shalersville Township TEA members.  I am hoping you will see the utter importance of replacing our President in Washington DC and the need to replace Sherrod Brown.   We need the right State Representatives and local representatives and this cannot be done without YOU. Therefore, I am asking you to renew your commitment and review the reasons you joined the Portage County TEA Party.  Perhaps some of you could do even more because there are many jobs to fill to get the results in 2012 that our country needs.

I am asking all of you to come to the scheduled candidate nights and to research your local candidates and let me know what you think about them.  I am asking your support when it is time to go door to door and talk with your neighbors, reminding them who the media is and their agenda.  We need success and you are a big part of it with your visits or phone calls.  WE NEED YOU!

We need new members, yard signs, door to door, phone calls. Now is the time to encourage your neighbors to go to the candidate meetings and hear all of them, ask questions and look them in the eye.

Thank you for reading this

Beth Pullin

Captain

Monthly Meeting

E-mail Print PDF

Monthly meetings are important.  This year we have the very big job of meeting our local elected officials and letting them know that we are not only watching them but that they will have our support if they maintain the best interests of the majority of their people.

Thursday, June 16, 2011 - 7:00PM at the Shalersville Elementary Gym (SR44 and 303) is Shalersville's next monthly meeting and Trustee Dennis Bujak will be joining us to let us now how he feels as your elected official, exactly what his job description is, which parts he really enjoys and those that perhaps he is not so happy about.  So, come prepared to ask questions and have an open discussion with him.

I plan to have also, an open discussion on the School Board where Jo Gobble and the Nagle's who attended the last school board meeting will report on their findings there.

We are in a learning process and the more you attend our meetings, the more you will be prepared for next year when our whole country will need to be informed and ready to make more tough decisions.  As we organize our Township Meetings, we will learn how to organize and merge with our fellow members to do the very best for our country as well.

See you on Thursday, June 16, 2011 7:00PM Shalersville Elementary Gym

Shalersville Patricipates in Memorial Day Parade

E-mail Print PDF

The Shalersville members of the Portage County TEA Party participated in their Memorial Day Parade and service on the 28th of May, 2011 and were very impressive with their display of military flags.  A very special thanks to Peggy and Leo Nagle for purchasing the flags and standards.  Displayed was "We Support Our Troops" with emblems of all the military branches.  Also carried were 3 X 5 flags for all five branches, an Ohio Banner and the Stars and Stripes.  The POW.MIA flag was loaned to another float and then held by  the float during the ceremony.  Leo and Peggy also donated the truck and trailer.  Peggy did a wonderful job of decorating but all admit, next time a blanket on the hay bales would be better. Ouch.  Special thanks to our retired Marine, David Mercer for returning to duty and carrying the Marine Flag.  Other flag carriers were Peggy Nagle, Jo Gobble, Barb Larsen, Jani Bash and Jo Ann Hartwig and Beth Pullin.  Leo in fatigues drove adeptly.

Applause for honoring our military.
