TEA PARTY PAC ENDORSES JANET ESPOSITO FOR PORTAGE COUNTY AUDITOR
Kent, Ohio - The Portage County TEA Party Political Action Committee (PAC) announced today that it has endorsed Republican Incumbent Candidate Janet Esposito for Portage County Auditor. The announcement was made by Portage County TEA Party PAC Executive Director, Tom Zawistowski at a Press Conference in Ravenna, Ohio.
In making the announcement, Zawistowski said “Janet Esposito has served the people of Portage County for 35 years, not just as an elected official, but as a volunteer with the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, the 4-H Advisory Board and as the Administrator of the Portage County Fair for 15 years. She served six years as a County Commissioner and has served for the past 15 years as our County Auditor. She certainly has the experience for the job and her integrity is unquestioned. She is constantly out among the people and willing to answer any question anyone may have about the County Finances. Janet Esposito, is everything we want in a public servant and we fully intend to work for her re-election in November.”
In accepting the endorsement, Auditor Esposito said “I am a lifelong Portage County resident, and grew up on our family farm with daily responsibilities, attended Ravenna Schools, and went on to Kent
State. My time as an Elected Official and the time I have spent on various committees and boards over the years, has prepared me well for the duties I must perform as Portage County auditor; however, it is my knowledge of our communities, its residents, and with Portage County life in general that have given me the abiltity to serve the people of Portage County, and that is what the job is really all about. I gladly accept the endorsement of the Portage County TEA Party PAC. As County Auditor my "Door is Open" to all the residents of our county."
The TEA Party is not a political party but a political movement. It is loosely based on the Boston Tea Party of 1773 in which American Colonists rebelled against the “Taxation Without Representation” of the King of England and the English Parliament by dumping tea into Boston Harbor. The initials TEA are today used to show that many current American citizens feel that they are “Taxed Enough Already” by the U.S. Government as well as state and local governments. The movement is attempting to motivate common American citizens to take a more active role in selecting and electing representatives that are committed to representing the people who elected them, instead of their own political parties and other special interest groups.
