Portage County TEA Party PAC Endorses Zeller and McKenny for Ohio House seats.
Kent, Ohio - The Portage County TEA Party Political Action Committee (PAC) announced today that it has endorsed Republican W. Roak Zeller for the open seat in the 68th Ohio House race and Todd McKenny in the race for the 43rd Ohio House seat. The announcement was made by Portage County TEA Party PAC Executive Director, Tom Zawistowski at a Press Conference in Brimfield, Ohio.
In making the announcement, Zawistowski went on to say “ In Todd McKenny we find a classic “compassionate conservative” candidate who has done significant charitable work for many years through his church and other organizations, along with his wife and family. We are confident that he is a strong believer in the constitution and that he has the legal knowledge and skill to help our legislature maintain the protections provided for individual liberty and freedom in the Constitution. Todd McKenny is a fiscal conservative who is committed to helping business bring jobs back to Summit and Portage Counties. While we respect his democratic opponent, we could not support the incumbent due to his support of ever increasing funding for schools and his liberal views on man-made global warming and nationalized medicine.”
In accepting the endorsement, McKenny said “Picture this: 250 people, concerned about the direction of their country, gathering each month to listen and talk to candidates. What could be more American? Both my opponent and I have spoken to the monthly gatherings of the Portage County TEA Party. I am honored to receive their endorsement and to be part of a movement of new leadership for Ohio to reduce the size and scope of government, to encourage the growth of businesses and to uphold our individual liberties as guaranteed by the Constitution.”
